Meet Creative Director and Founder Samantha Fox 

Samantha Fox is a leading specialist in the luxury bridal and evening wear industry.  Renowned for her innovative designs, and keen eye for details, her bespoke couture dresses are comprised of uncompromising quality, showcasing the most luxurious fabrics, exquisite intricate embroidery and signature defining corsetry. Samantha’s designs are infused with her love of all things history; Art, Fashion and Culture. 

“Like the ebb and flow of tides, fashion and our concept of beauty is in constant fluctuation and change. I love looking back throughout history across the divide of different cultures and seeing the way fashion and art influences us over time. As innovators and creators we are constantly evolving and shaping a new vision for the future.”

Samantha begins each seasons mood board with rough idea of shape and silhouette, making note of every curve, every angle, and every proportion in great detail. With an innate knowledge of anatomy and the human form, each design concept starts from a 3 dimensional stand point.  Much like a sculptor finding the subject within a lump of clay Samantha realizes the design within a piece of fabric draped around a figure, impossible to capture its whole essence in a 2 dimensional realm. Samantha’s unique background in patternmaking and construction lends to the poetic dance between structure, fit, and innovative design of her creations. Combining elements of aesthetically pleasing line work and form flattering proportions create a sense of kineticism with every piece. 

As a child growing up in North Carolina , Samantha’s favorite activity was playing dress up with her mothers old dance costumes.  Having both a mother and father as professional ballet dancers, most of her childhood was spent in the wings of a theater.  

“Growing up around so much art and passion fueled my imagination to run wild. I loved watching the way the light would hit the tulle skirts and witnessing the love stories unfold on stage through dance and movement was like waking a piece of my soul. I knew from a very young age what I wanted to do with my life. Make beautiful wearable pieces of art to inspire romance and wake the collectives imagination.”

Clear about her future career from its start, Samantha set her sights on New York City. She left to follow her dreams and attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. Upon graduating with a degree in Design and Certifications in both Draping and Patternmaking she has been fortunate enough to work with some of the top bridal and evening wear design houses in New York including such esteemed brands as Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, and Pamela Roland. After spending the last two decades honing her skills and deepening her knowledge of construction, high end fabrications and custom fit for her clients Samantha was ready to launch her own couture bridal label and share her dream and creations with the world.  

Wynona Fox was established in 2019 as a luxury brand offering its clientele a return to artistry in gown making.  Each and every dress is as extraordinary as it is immaculate, thanks to an expert team devoted to creative excellence, traditional couture techniques and unparalleled attention to detail.
